Stephen Currie
Associate Attorney
Yes, Stephen Currie plays basketball. No, he’s not that Steph Curry. Although, oddly enough, he does find it surprisingly easy to get a dinner reservation when the Warriors are in town to play the Rockets.
Stephen is a native Texan, born in Crockett and raised near the Davy Crockett National Forest, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors—and a fierce sense of right and wrong. After earning All-State honors as a high school defensive back, he joined the U.S. Army and served two tours in Iraq with the 36th Infantry Division. There, he earned a rare trifecta: he stayed in one of Saddam Hussein’s former palaces, saw Toby Keith perform live, and—somewhat less gloriously—was captured in a viral insurgent YouTube video.
After his honorable discharge, Stephen earned his bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and became a teacher, following in the footsteps of many family members. With the encouragement of his wife, Jade, he went to South Texas College of Law and began practicing transactional law before shifting into civil business litigation at Hopkins Centrich.
Today, Stephen represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex business disputes—breach of contract, shareholder oppression, and litigation involving non-compete, non-solicitation, and non-disclosure agreements. He also handles real estate and residential construction issues, homeowners’ association matters, and contested probate cases.
His approach is practical and straightforward, grounded in common sense. But make no mistake: Stephen gets invested. Injustice in any form—whether in the boardroom or across a boundary line—fires him up. He simply can’t stand to see a client taken advantage of, and he will do what it takes to fix it.
Outside of work, Stephen is a board member of the Woodlands Bar Association and a Trail Life leader at West Conroe Baptist Church, where he helps guide young men in faith and the outdoors. He’s been married to Jade for 15 years and is the proud father of three—Kohen, Rollin, and Capri. When not in court, you’ll find him fishing, hiking, hunting, or riding trails—ideally, with his family in tow.
